After the nights in the tent and in the sleeping bag in the cabins we enjoyed a bed with fresh bed linen. At the breakfast buffet we get soft eggs, ham, cheese, homemade jams, orange juice and: mmmmmh really good Swedish coffee!
The evening menu doesn’t appeal to us this time, so we decide to shop in the supermarket and eat in our room. We walk to Abisko Östra (approx. 2 km each way) and find bread, sausage, cream cheese, yoghurt and also take two packs of Kex with us.
Here you can see the settlement “Abisko Östra” from above – we took the picture the next day from the mountain.

We bring the food to our room and go on to the nearby Sami camp. In this open-air museum, you can see how the Sami lived at the end of the 19th century and how they stored their equipment and supplies.
After that we walk on to the chairlift station, to Abiskojaure Fjällstuga and to the “Kungsleden-Infopath”.

At 3 o’clock we come back to the hotel and spend the afternoon and evening reading in bed.
After an extensive breakfast we take a seat in the comfortable chairs between the lobby and the restaurant area and read. At 12 o’clock the sun comes out and we go to the chairlift station. The lift attendant explains to us that we are welcome to go up, but around 2 o’clock a storm is announced and when it arrives, the lift will be stopped.
We accept the risk of having to descend later – the local mountain is not that high. Already on the way up we have a great view of the surroundings and the famous “bathtub”.

Up top it is beautiful and sunny and we hike about 2 km to the summit of Njulla. There we enjoy a great view in all directions.

Back at the lift station we see that the service has already been stopped – but there’s no sign of a storm…
So we march down, it´s a nice path an we find some blueberries.

Later it actually starts to drizzle, wind comes up, but we are almost back at the hotel. It´s our last evening here, so we take dinner at the restaurant and enjoy the great meal.
Tomorrow we´ll take the bus to the airport at 12 noon and in the evening we´ll be home again.
